Take your Health and Fitness to the Next Level

I enjoy working with people of all ages, but at the age of 68 years old, I feel I'm in a special situation to help middle-aged and older folks. I work with people who have a desire to improve their health and fitness. We work together to create effective workouts that you enjoy. I recommend using the Concept 2 rowing machine for your cardio, and weight training for strength, but in the end, it's up to you.

Working with me you have the added benefit that I am a health coach, and have a broader knowledge and scope of practice than other personal trainers.

Indoor Rowing

Indoor rowing has finally become very popular. thats because it's a special kind of workout. It uses 86% of the muscles in your body, yet it is a low impact workout--its very unlikely that you will get injured. It's gentle on your Joints. Because so many muscles are used, your heart has to work hard to deliver blood to those muscles, and your lungs work to oxygenate your blood. All this work uses a lot of calories it's easy to burn 300 calories in a workout, so it helps you get and stay lean. It is a rhythmic, graceful movement that allows you to develop an attitude of persistence and confidence, especially in distance events. Lastly, it's an excellent sport for goal setting, which increases your fun and your commitment, and in the end dramatically improves your fitness level.

Weight Training

No matter your age, muscle size and strength is very important for your health. Teenagers should be working their muscles hard, as this sets the foundation of their fitness for the rest of their life. Seniors should be working their muscles to counter sarcopenia--the natural decline in muscle mass as we age.

Muscles use a considerable amount of calories even when you sleep, so more muscle helps keep you lean. a strong body makes all the activities of daily living a cinch, and prevents injuries.
